_ [おもしろし] 日米アニメ文化交流
僕の会社にインターンで来ている米国の学生が表題を主題に ちょっとした講演をするというので、聴いてみた。講演者は、 チャンさんという。名前と容姿からすると中国人。 ハーバード大学の2年生だ。
日本語はそこそこだったんだけど、講演全体の構成がイマイチ。 うーむ、ハーバード大学の学生ってこんなもんなのか、あるいは 母国語でないことが講演の構成にまで悪い影響があるのか。
米国の実状の紹介とか、各々の話題は面白かったし、質疑応答も 出来たのでまあまあ面白かった。
ただ、文化論となると、どうしても講演者の文化背景が分からないと 捉えにくい部分がとても多い。例えばある事柄について批判的な意見を 述べた場合に、基本的にどういう視点あるいはどういう立脚点にあるのかが 分からないと、一連の話題の論理的な構成が曖昧になってしまうのだ。
今回の件では、中国人らしき人が、米国の大学で、日本文化の研究を して、米国と日本のアニメ文化について述べているという、今、僕が 記した問題が顕著に現れる状況なのだ。この経験は僕にはなかったので、 新鮮だった。チャンさんの生い立ちとかそういうところから入らないと 理解を深めるのはなかなか難しい。 その機会があればもっと面白いんだけどね。
